It felt very special
Terry gave an intimate show. From his low key walk on stage and a few words of introduction of himself, his colleague on slide guitar... and his own various guitars... I knew we were in for a great show.
His voice is still fabulous and his musicality sharp and incisive. There was an interesting back story for every song. Cream, Small Faces, Peter Jay, Beatles, Stones.....were all referenced and his stories of "being there" were amusing and original.
He was happy to have his photo taken and informally chatted with fans at half time and showed every sign of enjoying every minute.
His set was long and he reluctantly left us to muse on his brilliant selection of stories, classics from his own albums and covers of songs from some of his favourite artists. Highlights for me were Brave Awakening, Live Life, and Without Expression (written when he was 14!)
A very special show from a very special performer.

Terry Reid, The Robin, Wolverhampton - 15th October 2023
A sublime experience
I have been a fan of Terry Reid for years but never had the opportunity to see him live. I have always thought that he had one of the best voices in rock music. Having seen a few other septuagenarian acts in recent years, who have not managed to rise to their past best, I was delighted to hear Terry rock that boat. He certainly Rocked the Robin, and the applause simply got louder and louder the more we saw a musical legend in full flow. His song choice was eclectic, and a few "greatest hits" were absent, but that did not matter in the slightest. If anything it left us impatient for his next album, of cowboy songs if he keeps his promise. Thank you Terry, you were awesome.
