Future Yard
The best place to discover the next big thing
Future Yard is a new addition to Birkenhead’s music scene and since 2019 it has already become an essential space for bands, artists, and gig-goers in the region. The 280-capacity has played host to many significant acts from around the world, including DJ Yoda, The Coral, Gilla Band, Bo Ningen, and shame.
Going big, Future Yard has many major names gracing their stage for IVW. Grab tickets for Irish folk duo Ye Vagabonds (Tuesday 30th January), Scouse indie rock squad Hooton Tennis Club (Wednesday 31st January), rock n’ roll quartet The Kairos (Thursday 1st February), Spanish rock band Hinds (Friday 2nd February) and rising stars CVC (Sunday 4th February).
Old Fire Station
Expect a warm welcome at the Carlisle club
Old Fire Station in Carlisle is a vibrant hub for the arts, comedy, theatre, and live music. Run by Will and Maxine Morgan, the Cumbrian hot spot opened to the public in 2015 and has been growing in popularity ever since.
Liverpudlian indie rockers The Zutons are best known for their hit singles "Valerie" and "Why Won't You Give Me Your Love?" See them play Old Fire Station on Wednesday 31st January.
The Castle Hotel
The popular bar with a rich legacy
The Castle Hotel has undergone many name changes, including The Crown and Sceptre, The Crown and Anchor, and The Clock Face and has always remained a popular destination for drinkers in Manchester since 1776.
The 80-capacity live music and performance hall was opened in 2010, quickly establishing The Castle Hotel as a vital gig space in the Northern Quarter.
The coming IVW celebrations see shows from psych-pop songwriter Novelty Island (Thursday 1st February), indie folk star Steven Adams & The French Drops (Friday 2nd February) and indie pop group Meadow Meadow (Sunday 4th February).
Gullivers
Travel to the Northern Quarter to enjoy great beers and music at this essential grassroots venue
Real ale pub Gullivers has a fascinating history which stretches all the way back to 1865. Found in the vibrant Northern Quarter, Manchester, the lively bar also includes a 110-capacity gig venue with a raised stage and an additional 40-cap intimate space used for acoustic and spoken word shows.
Gullivers is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and supportive community, making it the perfect place to discover emerging acts and see local artists.
Irish alt folk singer / songwriter Junior Brother will be making a special IVW appearance at Gullivers on Saturday 3rd February.
Rebellion
The perfect gig spot for fans of alternative sounds
First opened in 2013, Rebellion is the Manchester based club favoured by fans of rock, punk and metal plus drum and bass. The 400+ capacity venue boasts a might FOH sound system perfect for intense live shows and late-night club events. It also offers a beer pong table, a huge dance floor and lounge area.
Rebellion has previously hosted The Manchester Punk Festival and is famed for its fortnightly rock and metal night Untamed.
See parody metal band Evil Scarecrow play on Saturday 3rd February.
