Richard Hawley
See the acclaimed Sheffield songwriter play live in December
Multi-Mercury and BRIT Award nominee Richard Hawley is counted amongst the greatest living British songwriters. He previously played guitar for Britpop greats Longpigs, releasing the albums The Sun Is Often Out and Mobile Home, before striking out as a solo artist.
Richard Hawley‘s impressive output includes Coles Corner which saw him shortlisted for the Mercury Prize in 2006, and he was named a second time six years later for the equally impressive Standing at the Sky's Edge. He was also nominated for Best British Male Performer at the 2008 BRIT Awards.
The Steel City singer-songwriter has previously teamed up with close friend Jarvis Cocker to become a touring member of Pulp. And his long list of major name collabs includes fellow Sheffield sons Arctic Monkeys, Paul Weller, Manic Street Preachers and Elbow.
Richard Hawley released his new record In This City They Call You earlier this year. His ninth full-length studio album saw him strip down his sound, getting rid of distorted guitars to place greater emphasis on his beautiful baritone voice. Hawley hits the road in December for a short but sweet winter tour that culminates at Hackney Church.
