HONEY LUNG – ‘Big’
Whilst a sense of detachment can be alienating, it also gives you a unique perspective which can be the root of great inspiration. Fay indie rock band Honey Lung was started by songwriter Jamie Batten who now release their joyous new song ‘Big’ which finds hope in love and friendship, as guitarist and vocalist Batten explains;
“’Big’ was a song I wrote last year when I was up at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It was meant as an ode to the time I had there, which felt very isolated and gave me a lot of time to think about my choices and relationships I was facing back then. It’s quite a personal song as it was a confusing time and things weren’t straightforward. I’m usually quite unproductive when I’m going through a tough patch, and find it’s only in retrospect I can write a song about it. I think ‘Big’ is the most important song to me on the EP, it still affects me and is a comfort to me today”.
‘Big’ is taken from Honey Lung’s forthcoming ‘Post Modern Motorcade Music' EP which is out on Friday 29th of May through Big Scary Monsters.

JASON ISBELL & THE 400 UNIT – ‘Reunions’
Having risen to the top and taken home four Grammy Awards, alt country star Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit must wonder where he goes from here. And so, he returns with ten songs on new album ‘Reunions’ which re-evaluates his place in the world, and especially looks at how his relationships as an artist, a father, a lover and a friend have changed.
“Success is a very nice problem to have but I think ‘how do I get through it and not lose what made me good in the first place?’ A lot of these songs and the overall concept of this album is how do I progress as an artist and a human being and still keep that same hunger that I had when I wasn’t quite so far along in either respect.”
