EP

Beach BunnyBlame Game

Riding high after their debut Honeymoon was featured on all the crucial Album of the Year listings, Chicago indie pop band Beach Bunny now continue their rapid rise to the top with new EP Blame Game.

Featuring the single “Good Girls (Don’t Get Used)”, Blame Game explores the dark territories where relationships turn toxic, as singer Lili explains;

As a veteran of engaging with emotionally unavailable people, I wanted to create a sassy song that calls out players by talking down to them as if they were children, showing that poor communication skills and mind games are immature."

“It shifts the blame to the person that was acting disrespectful, instead of myself. The song also hammers home the point that I know my worth; I’m not afraid to call out players on their stupid behaviour, and I’m not going to tolerate being thrown around emotionally.” – Lili Trifilio

Beach Bunny tickets are currently available.

ALBUMS

shameDrunk Tank Pink

South London post punks shame became the tastemaker’s riotous band of choice when they dropped debut album Songs Of Praise two years ago – almost to the day! Now the edgy quintet are back with sophomore record Drunk Tank Pink!

Even more ambitious then their first outing, Drunk Tank Pink takes a more thoughtful approach the second time around, as the eleven tracks are darker, deeper and more intense than before.

“We definitely tried to push ourselves and create something different with this album. There is some funky stuff and then there’s the opposite – songs that aren’t funky at all. It’s a mix we’re really happy with. And then there’s the fact that we all got so much better at our instruments and our abilities. We wanted to show that off, really, and this album shows what we’re capable of.” – Charlie Forbes

Drunk Tank Pink is out today on Pink Coloured Double Vinyl and Pink Vinyl. They hit the road in support of their new LP in November – tickets newly released with Gigantic!

shame tickets are currently available.

Pom PokoCheater

Art punk provocateurs Pom Poko are back with their second album Cheater which sees the Norwegian band once again bring out the gloriously bright riffs for sugary sweet anthems. It’s a big leap forward from debut LP Birthday, both in sonic terms and lyrical content.

I think it’s very accurate to say that we wanted to embrace our extremes a bit more. In the production process I think we aimed more for some sort of contrast between the meticulously written and arranged songs and a more chaotic execution and recording, but also let ourselves explore the less frantic parts of the Pom Poko universe. I think both in the more extreme and painful way, and in the sweet and lovely way, this album is kind of amplified.” – Ragnhild Fangel

Released through essential indie label Bella Union, Pom Poko have also just released tickets for their Cheater tour with Gigantic. See them play Bristol Thekla, Village Underground in London, Metronome at Nottingham and Manchester Academy 3 in September.

Pom Poko tickets are currently available.

You Me At SixSuckapunch

Pop punk will never die – as proved by You Me At Six who are back with brand-new record Suckapunch; their seventh album in their sixteen-year career!

It takes the traditional You Me At Six sound and gives it a fresh feel which is what we wanted for this album. On our last album ‘VI’, it felt like we were sparring with the idea of the next step for the band. With ‘SUCKAPUNCH’ it feels like we’re there. We now understand how to implement our interests in hip-hop and R&B without it feeling forced or contrived. I don’t think anybody has heard our band do what we are doing right now.

See You Me At Six when they play support for Catfish And The Bottlemen at Singleton Park, Swansea, completing a mighty line up which also includes Feeder and Yonaka. Grab your copy of Suckapunch on CD, Signed Transparent Green Vinyl and a Bundle containing both.

You Me At Six tickets are currently available.
