JESSIE WARE – “Please”
Electro pop sensation Jessie Ware shot high into the Top 10 with the release of her critically acclaimed fourth album What’s Your Pleasure! last summer, named in just about every album of the year listing and even nominated for a BRIT Award along the way. Now, Ware drops new single “Please” ahead of the release of What’s Your Pleasure? The Platinum Pleasure Edition on June 11th, and it’s a pure fire banger!
Produced by nonother than Simian Mobile Disco legend James Ford and co-written with the aid of such esteemed names as Shungudzo, and Danny Parker; “Please” is Ware’s anthem celebrating desire and pleasure; “‘Please’ is full of optimism and ready to be played in a place where we can all be together and flirt, dance, touch, and kiss”
Mercury Prize nominee Jessie Ware will see out 2021 with a huge headline tour in December, tickets already selling out fast with Gigantic.

SQUID – Bright Green Field
We first go hints that Squid’s first full length would match their tremendous hype with the release of their “Narrator” single back in January. Featuring Martha Skye Murphy and accompanied by a visually stunning video, it was a brilliant showcase of their distinct style which seems to summon disjointed jazz, krautrock, post punk and indie dance all at once. The early release was a great indicator of what is to come, as their introduction album Bright Green Field is a joyous juxtopision of said styles and marks out the Brighton band as the most innovative and exciting acts of the new generation.
Released by War Records, renowned for only picking the most inventive artists, Squid have succeeded in crafting a genre-blending LP which avoids being a challenging listen, despite the overt technical procession, off kilter rhythms and wilfully blunt vocal delivery thanks to its effortlessly execution throughout.
Bright Green Field climaxes with eight-minute epic single “Pamphlets”, a live fan-favourite beloved by the band which wonderfully winds and meanders before closing;
“This is one of our songs that has shape-shifted the most and has always been a staple of our live show when we were able to tour. Out of all the music on Bright Green Field, we've played “Pamphlets” the most, and some people might remember it from our gigs. It's a song that's also has come full circle, we started it in Chippenham and finished it in Chippenham. An ode to Wiltshire? Possibly – but it was always the song that we knew would finish our first album.”

ICEAGE – Seek Shelter
Marking a decade since Danish post punks Iceage dropped celebrated debut album New Brigade which made them international underground superstars practically overnight, they now make their very welcome return with fifth LP Seek Shelter – which is already being regarded as their best record yet.
Recorded at Namouche, a fabled wood panelled radio station in Lisbon which has fallen into disrepair, the Copenhagen quintet enlisted producer Sonic Boom aka Pete Kember of Spacemen 3 to produce their twelve-day session that saw them recruit the Lisboa Gospel Collective choir to ensure they hit all their emotive highs. The rapid recording process has resulted in nine songs which show tremendous growth from their first offering ten years ago, and mirrors both the joy and turmoil of singer Elias Bender Rønnenfelt’s recent relationship;
“I started writing that song when I was in love. Before I had finished it, the trajectory of that relationship had just shifted. It became like a lament of how things can be so tender and beautiful, but that they can’t always last. It’s also as straightforward and simple as anything I’ve ever done or written, I think.”

ALFIE TEMPLEMAN – Forever Isn’t Long Enough
Bedfordshire indie influenced Alfie Templeman made quite a stir in 2018, when the teenage multi-instrumentalist songwriter appeared out of nowhere and dropped self-produced debut EP Like An Animal which saw him play every part. It was followed by stunning mini album Don’t Go Wasting Time in 2019 and a second EP Happiness In Liquid Form last year, cementing him as the bright young thing you need to know. Continuing his irrepressible rise, he brings out another essential eight track mini album; Forever Isn’t Long Enough
Conjuring shades of Tame Impala, Forever Isn’t Long Enough is packed full of dance groove and summery vibes, making it the perfect choice to play at all those reunion parties on there way. Plus, it makes Alfie the perfect choice for festivals and you can see him make appearances at Beyond the Woods, NEIGHBOURHOOD WEEKENDER and 110 Above Festival ahead of his own headline tour next year.
