SINGLES
THE SNUTS – ‘Coffee & Cigarettes’
The Snuts continue their run of stirring singles by dropping snappy number ‘Coffee & Cigarettes’. Taken from their forthcoming ‘Mixtape EP’ which is scheduled for release next week, their new single has all the charm and excitement of a fresh new indie disco banger.
Inspiration for the song was partly inspired by the great Bob Dylan and was laid down in a Los Angeles studio with the aid of famed producer Inflo (Little Simz, Karen O / Danger Mouse, Michael Kiwanuka).
“It’s a song that celebrates the simpler things in life. It is pretty evident we were keen to push the boundaries of our songwriting with this track”.
The Snuts tickets are currently available.
DANCING ON TABLES – ‘Not To Need You’
Dancing On Tables are the fresh faced five-piece pop-rock band from Dunfermline, Scotland taking the world by storm and their rapid rise continues with the release of new single ‘Not To Need You’. Band members Robbie McSkimming, Callum Thomas, Hamish Finlayson, Gregor Stobie, and Reece Dobbin have created an anthemic ode to independence and self-reliance.
"Writing the track felt more like therapy than a song writing session. We talked about all the difficulties we faced in life as we told stories of failed friendships and heartaches, before agreeing that we wanted a song that would encapsulate the pain and hurt that people go through in life, but ultimately show that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. The track focuses on someone ending a reliance on someone else, but we wanted the track to apply to all uphill battles, and for 'the best part of starting over, is not to need you anymore' to give people hope that things will always get better."
Dancing On Tables tickets are currently available.

DUTCHKID – ‘flight’ (Acoustic)
Following the release of their energetic debut album ‘Empires’ and euphoric EP ‘Youth’; South East London collective dutchkid were one of the biggest acts to breakthrough in recent years with their addictive pop/electronica.
Now, the boys have surprised us by going for a stripped back approach and releasing a new vid featuring a live acoustic re-working of their track ‘flight’ which sees them joined by a choir as they perform at the Old Mill. This special one off really reveals the heart of the song and the sheer joy of their shows.

ALBUM
RIZ AHMED – ‘The Long Goodbye’
Acclaimed actor, rapper and activist Riz Ahmed raises the emotional case against BREXIT and its many terrible effects on his new LP ‘The Long Goodbye’. Now seeing his relationship with the reactionary elements of Britain as akin to a toxic relationship, the pain of being made to feel a stranger in his own home is excruciatingly apparent as he details the deepening racial divides and his growing anger through bhangra inflected hip hop.
"I want people to know what this feels like. People who haven't really maybe understood how it feels, I want [them] to step into this feeling of heartbreak that a lot of us feel right now... It's very clear that the reality we're in is one of a lot of people feeling unwanted and feeling upset about that and scared about that. So, I think it's just a reaction to that.""
Produced by Redinho (Tom Calvert), ‘The Long Goodbye’ is a vital album which articulately expresses the too often maligned experience of Asian Britain with crucial beats, sharp tracks and insightful spoken word. If they record doesn’t take the Mercury Award then there is no justice.
"I guess my first responsibility as an artist is to show the inside of my mind, to show you the things that keep me up at night, whether they're hopes and dreams or nightmares and fears, or sometimes a combination, and to kind of spill that out there"
See Riz Ahmed when he plays brand new London hotspot Lafayette on Thursday 14th of April where he will show off his new material and more – tickets on sale with Gigantic right now!
