Handmade 2016 is a three-day independent music and art festival taking place at O2 Leicester.
The festival started in 2013, so it is relatively new but has already forged a reputation for hooking some cult acts (Future Of The Left, Shonen Knife, Slaves, Toy) and bringing you the best in new talent.
This year’s headliners include We Are Scientists, Deaf Havana and Swim Deep. Other acts include Big Deal, Three Trapped Tigers, Beans On Toast, Los Campesinos! and many more.
Not only will there be some great music there the festival will showcase some fantastic comedy, drawing talent from the Leicester Fringe. Also there will be art exhibitions to take a look at, Leicester LoFi photography have been given a space plus Handmade promise plenty more yet to be announced.
It’s perfectly timed, starting at 19:00 on Friday 29th of April and ending Sunday 1st of May allowing you to enjoy all the wonderful madness of the festival over a weekend. AND you have the benefit of the May Bank Holiday to give you that all important time to recover.
Please don’t forget there is nowhere to camp so you will need somewhere to stay. For those not local, Leicester is a great town with a lot to offer so you definitely have the option of grabbing a budget room or booking something a bit more fancy if you prefer – but (unless you are confident in your pulling powers) do it well in advance.
I was lucky enough to go last year and had an absolute blast. I’ve made sure I’ve kept my calendar free so hopefully I’ll see you there!
Tickets are on sale through Gigantic, and you can buy them right HERE.
