Led by queen of cool Sharleen Spiteri; Scottish rockers Texas can boast that they are one of the biggest ever British bands, with multi-million record sales, packing out venues wherever they play and a glittering mantlepiece packed with awards and trophies.

After taking fans deep into the woods over a decade ago, Texas once again team up with Forest Live for unmissable outdoor shows located in some of the finest English forests. Tickets are on sale with Gigantic HERE.

We last played a Forest Live show in 2011 so for us it’s a welcome return to be performing our hits in such a beautiful setting. We hope to see you there.” – Sharleen Spiteri

Glaswegian band Texas were quick to shoot to global attention after original members Sharleen Spiteri (singer) and Johnny McElhone (bass) wrote and released debut single “I Don’t Want A Lover” in 1989. They have remained at the top ever since, thanks to Spiteri’s undeniable star quality plus their knack for writing the perfect balance of pop and rock.

Always “In Demand”; the subsequent years have heard them produce such essential singles as “Halo”, “Black Eyed Boy”, “Summer Son” and “Say What You Want”. Plus, their albums Southside and White On Blonde have reached sales in their millions.

Last year saw the release of their tenth album whish they simply titled Hi. Originally a project which envisioned Texas revisiting and re-working their classic album White On Blonde; they instead decided to write an entirely new record which saw them really explore a wide palette of sound, and featured a team up with New York rappers Wu-Tang Clan on title track “Hi” and spirited single “Mr Haze”. Impressing critics and satisfying loyal audiences, Hi shot to No. 1 in the indie charts and smashed high in the Top 10 of the U.K album charts.

On paper, you’re going “What is this?”. You’ve got disco, folk, country, synthy 80s stuff, a lot going on. On paper, it doesn’t work. But, when you put it on, it does, it all connects. It’s our love and passion for music. It’s a celebration.” – Sharleen Spiteri

This summer, come to sensational outdoor shows that see Sharleen and the gang play in some of the most scenic forest locations that the British wilderness has to offer. Texas have previously played for Forestry Live, with both band and all attendees loving the unique experience of enjoying the hits from right across their career.

At Westonbirt Arboretum, support comes curtesy of acclaimed songwriter Rumer. And the enigmatic Sam Ryder will be playing first at Cannock Chase Forest and Delamere Forest.

Income generated from these exciting gigs will be reinvested in the forests, to encourage wildlife and improve public access. For more details, head to Forestry England HERE.
