This weeks artist of the week is Leed’s based YARD ACT. The band’s debut ‘Fixer Upper’ that shot them onto playlists on streaming and radio came from the 4 track EP ‘Dark Days’ released earlier this year.
Hot off the heels of storming summer festival stages (including Dot to Dot in Nottingham where we saw them and were blown away) the band have more dates to come, a debut album ‘The Overload’ due in 2022. And today (6th Dec) have been confirmed as one of the BBC Sound of 2022!
Their UK dates also include a headline run on the DIY Magazine Class of 2022 tour. The Class of 2022 tour is a celebration of music’s most exciting new artists, as featured in DIY’s December ‘21 / January ‘22 double issue, and its multi-channel media campaign - will see DIY highlight and champion thirteen new artists, supporting them as they move towards the next steps of their careers, launching debut albums and playing bigger events throughout 2022. DIY’s Class of… alumni include the likes of Ashnikko, Sports Team, Wolf Alice, Years & Years, HAIM, George Ezra, slowthai and many more.
